Without wishing in any complain of the action laken by the Government while making the necessary arrangements for a change in my department, I still in justice to myself and family must respectfully request that bris Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor in Executive Council will consider whether in justice I can be called upon to leave the service with forssibly only a fortnights' warning.

I am unable from the Derintel which I have received to gather that I am in any way

His Brace for my conánct in the difficulties which have arisen in my department, and am inclined to think that withdrawal from office has been

determined on

simply because after what has hoped, it would be next to imposible for me to discharge the duties of my office under bis Excellency Sir Richard Graves Macdonnell.

3 I trust that the Government will deal as liberally with me as in former cases of withdrawal
